Legal Project Manager

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage a defined portfolio of legal matters, ensuring alignment across timelines, budgets, resources, and priorities
• Develop and implement detailed matter plans, including milestones and deliverables, to ensure successful execution
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding portfolio delivery, providing strategic updates and insights
• Collaborate with internal legal teams, clients, and third-party vendors to ensure seamless progress and communication
• Manage resources and forecast demand to optimize workload balancing and delivery efficiency
• Identify and assess potential risks, proactively developing mitigation strategies for matters and the broader portfolio
• Track, analyze, and report on matter-level budgets, including forecasting and financial performance trends
• Prepare regular reporting, including dashboards, performance metrics, and executive summaries
• Partner with Finance, Legal Operations, and Technology departments to ensure alignment on matter requirements

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in matter and/or portfolio management within a law firm environment
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent matters within a defined client or practice portfolio
• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze data, create financial models, and produce insightful reports
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment
• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence high-value stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile or Waterfall
• Experience using project management tools like MS Project or Asana
