About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide complex administrative support to attorneys, paralegals, and the litigation department
- Proactively manage timekeepers' workloads, calendars, and business travel arrangements
- Create, edit, redline, and proofread legal documents from various formats
- File paper and electronic documents with appropriate courts and agencies while ensuring all deadlines are met
- Coordinate with docketing specialists to ensure accuracy of legal proceeding dates and requirements
- Manage client/matter intake, including preliminary conflicts checks and engagement letters
- Handle professional communications, including screening calls and processing incoming/outgoing mail and electronic communications
- Assist with financial tasks such as expense reimbursements, check requests, and daily time entry processing
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience working within a law firm environment
- Typing speed of at least 75 WPM
- Strong command of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation
- Working knowledge of state and federal court rules, procedures, and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with legal terminology pertinent to litigation
- Proficiency with document production software and personal computer utilities
- Experience with records management and library operations
- Strong organizational skills for prioritizing high-volume workloads
