Legal Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Own the legal tech stack, including evaluation, implementation, and management of software and AI tools
• Partner with IT and procurement to optimize tool integration and adoption
• Build dashboards and reporting infrastructure to provide visibility into department performance
• Map and audit legal workflows to identify and resolve bottlenecks
• Design scalable processes for high-volume legal work and develop standard operating procedures
• Manage outside counsel relationships, including rate negotiations, budgeting, and invoice review
• Manage legal billing, e-billing software, and matter management systems
• Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Build and curate a legal knowledge management system
• Oversee compliance with government relations regulatory requirements
• Support board and stockholder administration and equity plan administration

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in legal operations, law firm management, or management consulting
• Deep familiarity with legal technology (CLM, matter management, e-billing, contract repositories)
• Proven experience leading process improvement initiatives
• Strong analytical and project management skills
• Experience at a high-growth technology company
• Familiarity with AI tools in a legal context and data privacy/information governance
• CLOC or PMP certification preferred
