About the role
Responsibilities
- Draft memoranda, affidavits, and briefs
- Conduct legal and policy research
- Research prospects for new litigation, including factual and legal claims
- Research and draft materials for public education
- Perform legislative bill tracking and analysis
- Center principles of equity, inclusion, and belonging in all work
Requirements
- Current enrollment in an accredited U.S. law school
- Completion of at least one year of law school before the internship begins
- Excellent research skills using internet and legal databases
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Commitment to civil liberties, civil rights, and social justice
- Must be based in the U.S. for the entire duration of the internship
