Responsibilities

  • Draft memoranda, affidavits, and briefs
  • Conduct legal and policy research
  • Research prospects for new litigation, including factual and legal claims
  • Research and draft materials for public education
  • Perform legislative bill tracking and analysis
  • Center principles of equity, inclusion, and belonging in all work

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in an accredited U.S. law school
  • Completion of at least one year of law school before the internship begins
  • Excellent research skills using internet and legal databases
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Commitment to civil liberties, civil rights, and social justice
  • Must be based in the U.S. for the entire duration of the internship
