Legal Fellow

Responsibilities

• Work closely with colleagues on existing litigation and advocacy projects
• Develop core legal advocacy, legal research, and writing skills
• Analyze state and local legislative proposals and research legislative history
• Draft internal memos, testimony, and advocacy or public education materials
• Participate in community outreach, coalition meetings, and public speaking engagements

Requirements

• Graduating law student, law graduate, or judicial clerk from the Class of 2025 or 2026
• Commitment to civil liberties, civil rights, and racial justice
• Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills
• Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills
• High level of organization and attention to detail
• Seeking admission to the New Jersey bar

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in or connection to New Jersey public interest advocacy
