Legal Entity Controller - Associate

Responsibilities

• Oversee capital adequacy, financial reporting, and control processes for assigned legal entities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Monitor and assess regulatory risks, including market and credit risk exposures, and report findings to management.
• Prepare financial statements and local regulatory reports.
• Assess the impact of new transactions on regulatory risk and capital solvency.
• Manage month-end currency hedge processes.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Product Controllers, Treasury, Risk, and Technology.
• Support ad hoc queries from management, auditors, or regulators and assist with new business initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field (Science and Technology backgrounds are also welcome).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in risk management, finance, or accounting.
• Analytical and logical thinking skills with the ability to understand quantitative concepts like risk sensitivity and capital adequacy.
• Native level Japanese and basic level English.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently with limited supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of financial products such as options, swaps, forwards, futures, and margin trades.
• Knowledge of Japan GAAP and/or US GAAP.
• Experience with prudential regulations and regulatory reporting.
• Prior involvement in market risk projects or capital planning.
• Professional certifications such as JCPA, CFA, FRM, or Actuary status.
