Responsibilities

• Own the AGPL-3.0 and Enterprise licensing model end to end, including detecting violations and negotiating conversions to paid agreements
• Structure and negotiate enterprise license agreements directly with customers
• Manage IP portfolio strategy including trademarks, copyright, and trade secrets
• Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS, licensing, distribution, partnership, and vendor agreements
• Build contract templates, playbooks, and approval workflows from the ground up
• Advise on GDPR, data processing agreements, and international data transfers
• Establish AI governance and regulatory compliance processes
• Select and manage outside counsel across multiple jurisdictions

Requirements

• UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent with multi-jurisdictional experience
• Hands-on experience negotiating or enforcing copyleft/open-source licenses (AGPL, GPL, etc.)
• Proven experience converting unauthorized commercial use into paying licensing customers
• Strong track record of drafting and negotiating SaaS and technology licensing agreements
• Ability to operate as the sole in-house lawyer and build a legal function from scratch
• Working knowledge of GDPR and cross-border data transfers

Preferred Qualifications

• In-house experience at an AI, computer vision, or open-source software company
• Familiarity with YOLO or comparable dual-licensed open-source projects
• Experience with SCA tooling, SPDX, or SBOMs
• Experience with AI governance or software IP enforcement
• Proficiency in Spanish or Mandarin
