About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as a legal partner for creative and business teams from initial game idea through exploitation and franchise evolution
- Structure, negotiate, and secure a wide range of agreements including services, licenses, distribution, and partnerships
- Provide pragmatic and strategic legal advice in a fast-paced international environment
- Train and empower teams on legal fundamentals such as IP, contracts, and risk awareness
- Work transversely and internationally, contributing to global projects with potential travel between Montreal and Paris
- Assist in managing pre-litigation situations in close collaboration with external counsel
- Maintain active monitoring of legal, regulatory, and technological developments impacting the video game industry
Requirements
- Mastery of contract law within media, entertainment, technology, or video game environments
- Ability to communicate clearly, calmly, and structurally with high-level stakeholders
- Autonomous, proactive, and pragmatic approach to case management
- Strategic and analytical mindset with strong prioritization skills
- Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary collaboration
- Interest in video game franchises and the competitive gaming ecosystem
- Professional proficiency in both French and English
