Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on financial regulations, corporate law, data protection, tax law, and employment law
• Draft and own all relevant legal documents for Italian customers
• Lead legal research and document drafting for new products like credit and credit cards
• Act as a primary contact for regulators including Banca d'Italia
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients, partners, and suppliers
• Manage complaints and contentious customer cases, including out-of-court resolution systems
• Support internal operational teams in setting up processes for the Italian market
• Advise on branch governance and implementation of legislation such as MiFID II and PSD II

Requirements

• Law degree
• Substantial professional experience in a top-tier law firm, fintech, or financial services sector
• In-depth knowledge of Italian and European financial services regulations
• Expertise in navigating complex legal environments and providing strategic guidance
• Deep understanding of fintech business models
• Experience interacting with financial services regulators
• Full professional fluency in Italian and English
