Legal Counsel, Privacy & AI Governance

Responsibilities

• Advise product, commercial, and operational teams on data protection and privacy law
• Draft and negotiate data protection agreements, including DPAs and SCCs
• Lead DPIAs and AI risk assessments in collaboration with product and engineering
• Advise on AI governance, training data governance, and automated decision-making
• Manage legal aspects of cyber and information security obligations like NIS2
• Identify and build legal AI solutions and workflow improvements

Requirements

• Strong track record of privacy and data protection legal advice
• Experience in-house or advising digital, tech, or consumer-facing businesses
• Proficiency in UK GDPR, DPA 2018, and PECR
• Experience drafting and negotiating data protection contracts
• Knowledge of AI governance and cyber regulatory obligations
• Ability to engage with product, engineering, and commercial stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Genuine enthusiasm for legal technology and AI tools
• Hands-on experience deploying legal tech solutions
