Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Provide practical, clear and accurate legal advice on commercial, corporate, regulatory, employment and privacy matters
• Independently structure, draft, negotiate and review financing, partnership and customer-facing agreements
• Identify legal and business risks and collaborate with business teams on solutions
• Anticipate and address legal issues to protect company interests and reduce exposure
• Draft internal policies and guidelines to ensure compliance
• Support legal updates to customer-facing disclosures and agreements
• Develop and implement processes for efficient contract negotiation
• Conduct legal research and provide concise advice to internal stakeholders
• Manage external legal counsel as required

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) or Juris Doctor (J.D.)
• 2-5 years of post-call experience
• Mix of law firm and in-house experience, ideally in a regulated industry or startup
• Commercial experience with a generalist mentality
• Experience negotiating vendor contracts, NDAs, and consulting agreements
• Ability to work in a small team and take ownership of work
• Strong sense of urgency, hustle mentality, and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
