Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Provide regular and ongoing legal advice regarding the legal issues facing the Company.
• Draft joint venture agreements, consortium agreements, memoranda of understanding, and other service contracts.
• Lead negotiations for major contracts, joint ventures, and related agreements.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts regarding legal aspects and risks.
• Perform initial assessments of files and review contractual provisions to provide accurate risk evaluations.
• Collaborate with external counsel and internal resources for the settlement of claims and litigation.
• Ensure compliance with contractual protocols, business standards, and Company directives.

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience in transactional, corporate, or litigation law within a large law firm or in-house legal department.
• Perfect fluency in both French and English (bilingualism is mandatory).
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple urgent projects.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex legal issues for senior management.
• Strong negotiation, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills.
• Pragmatic mindset with the ability to balance legal and commercial risks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Membership in the Barreau du Québec is considered an asset.
