About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide clear and practical legal advice to teams across the firm
- Draft, review, and negotiate trading-related contracts for Asia business, focusing on China
- Handle derivatives documents, commodities purchase agreements, broker agreements, terms of business, NDAs, and financing agreements
- Respond to inquiries regarding existing and new contracts
- Provide direct legal support to the desk on new business initiatives
- Liaise with external counsel and other external advisers
- Negotiate with counterparties in China and other jurisdictions
Requirements
- 3-8 years PQE on a corporate and/or finance team (e.g., derivatives, credit, M&A)
- Experience within leading law firms or financial institutions
- Proven experience drafting and negotiating contracts
- Native Mandarin speaker with fluency in English (speaking and writing)
- Strong negotiation and written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
