Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Prepare, analyze, and review commercial contracts, internal policies, and other legal documents
• Implement and maintain legal compliance across various business areas, including data privacy, marketing, payments, and consumer protection
• Analyze legislation in tier-1 countries regarding data privacy, consumer rights, and AI regulation to provide practical business advice
• Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, analysts, and marketers to mitigate operational legal risks
• Proactively identify and manage potential legal risks in jurisdictions where the company operates, specifically North America, Europe, and Central Africa
• Handle consumer complaints and interact with regulatory authorities during investigations
• Provide legal support for current operational activities and communicate with international business partners and law firms

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant legal experience in an international/top-tier law firm, in-house at a product IT company, or at a Big Four firm
• Top-tier law degree from a leading university
• Fluent English proficiency, including the ability to draft complex legal documentation
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Ability to learn quickly and apply creative thinking to solve legal challenges

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of how product-based IT companies operate
• Knowledge of US and EU consumer protection and data privacy laws
• Experience in moot court or legal debating
