Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Structure, draft, and execute structured finance deals, including securitisation, asset-backed lending, trade finance, fintech lending, crypto, and venture capital investments.
• Lead and coordinate transactions from inception to completion, ensuring all timelines, documentation, and compliance requirements are met.
• Serve as the primary legal point of contact in Italy, liaising with business teams and external advisors.
• Provide corporate assistance in the structuring, management, and maintenance of investment vehicles across various jurisdictions.
• Act as the sole Legal Counsel in the Ferrara office, supporting local operations and the establishment of the firm's presence while reporting to the London-based legal team.
• Provide day-to-day legal support to various internal teams to help them navigate legal considerations and achieve business objectives.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a lawyer in a finance-related field such as structured finance, banking, capital markets, or fund structuring.
• Experience working within a reputable law firm or financial institution.
• High degree of autonomy and the ability to take ownership of matters while working within a cross-border team.
• Full fluency in both English and Italian.
• Strong drafting skills and the ability to manage complex documentation and multiple projects simultaneously.
• Pragmatic communication skills with the ability to explain legal issues to non-lawyers.
