Legal Counsel

Responsibilities

• Serve as a pragmatic legal and business advisor to the Indonesian management team by building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
• Minimize legal risk through early involvement in key projects and proactive issue resolution.
• Lead the compliance agenda, including providing training on key policies and maintaining robust controls.
• Support various teams on strategic initiatives and key business projects.
• Promote Diageo leadership standards and purpose across the organization.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5+ years of experience as a lawyer, with experience in a leading law firm or an in-house legal department.
• Strong commercial law background, specifically in the negotiation and documentation of commercial contracts.
• Proven experience in compliance management, particularly in compliance-challenged markets.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and coach senior managers.
• Fluency in both English and Indonesian.
• Ability to identify business-critical issues and prioritize workload within a fast-paced commercial environment.
