Legal Assistant - Intellectual Property

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process patent and trademark registration applications, filings, and renewals
• Process patent and trademark prosecution documents, including drafting and proofreading correspondence
• Monitor docketing dates and deadlines proactively to ensure timely handling of all matters
• Manage daily incoming and outgoing correspondence with clients, outside counsel, and the USPTO
• Maintain and organize electronic and physical files in accordance with internal policies
• Provide administrative support for intellectual property litigation, including preparing exhibits
• Collaborate with attorney and paralegal teams to maintain efficient workflow processes
• Manage client contacts, electronic mail, and time charge entries

Requirements

• 3+ years of related legal experience
• Strong knowledge of patent and trademark terminology and prosecution procedures
• Familiarity with USPTO rules and procedures for both U.S. and foreign intellectual property matters
• Experience working with intellectual property software systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2016 suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills
• High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
