Legal Assistant - Intellectual Property

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and process patent and trademark registration applications, filings, and renewals
• Manage patent and trademark prosecution documents, including drafting and proofreading correspondence
• Monitor docketing dates and deadlines proactively to ensure timely handling of all matters
• Process daily incoming and outgoing correspondence with clients, outside counsel, and the USPTO
• Maintain and organize electronic and physical files in accordance with internal policies
• Provide administrative support for intellectual property litigation, including preparing exhibits
• Assist with time entry, reviewing client invoices for accuracy, and processing payment requests
• Collaborate with the attorney and paralegal team to maintain efficient IP workflows

Requirements

• 3+ years of related legal experience
• Strong knowledge of patent and trademark terminology, prosecution procedures, and USPTO rules
• Experience working with intellectual property software systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 2016 suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills
• High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
