About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain both paper and digital records by filing case documents in appropriate software or filing cabinets
- Order and obtain legal documents as requested by attorneys and ensure accurate filing
- Serve as the initial point of contact for clients and opposing counsel
- Support attorneys by obtaining affidavits, transcribing dictation, and monitoring deadlines and calendars
- Act as a firm-wide "floater" to provide support to multiple attorneys and teams for overflow or backup tasks
Requirements
- 3-5 years of prior legal experience
- Experience in litigation, general liability, appellate briefs, and workers' compensation defense
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong ability to edit and proofread correspondence and legal documents
- Knowledge of court procedures
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work in-office in St. Louis, MO
