About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research on employment, administrative, and international civil service law, including World Bank Group Staff Rules.
  • Prepare high-quality legal memoranda, case summaries, briefing notes, and research papers.
  • Draft, review, and edit legal correspondence, submissions, pleadings, and other legal documents for the Staff Association.
  • Assist in case intake by gathering facts, conducting preliminary analysis, and identifying key issues.
  • Support the full grievance lifecycle, including mediation and proceedings before the World Bank Administrative Tribunal.
  • Maintain organized case files, track deadlines, and manage legal workloads and documentation.
  • Assist in organizing legal events, workshops, and outreach activities for staff.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited institution.
  • At least two (2) years of relevant professional experience.
  • Strong writing, listening, and coaching skills.
  • High emotional intelligence and the ability to work empathetically with individuals in conflict.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and oral.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgment when handling sensitive and confidential information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in French and/or Spanish.
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment.
