About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform secretarial duties for assigned attorneys including creating, editing, and proofreading legal documents and presentations
- Prepare legal documents from drafts, including shell pleadings, discovery, and Tables of Contents/Authorities
- File pleadings with U.S. District Court and Massachusetts State Courts using e-filing processes
- Manage electronic case files and coordinate preparation of binders for depositions, hearings, and trials
- Maintain attorney calendars, case deadline reminder systems, and travel itineraries
- Process billing, attorney expense reports, and new business requests
- Communicate with clients, courts, and opposing counsel via telephone and email
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of general litigation experience
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with legal software such as iManage, Emburse, and CD Entry
- Familiarity with State and Federal Court filing guidelines and e-filing requirements
- Strong proofreading, editing, and basic arithmetic skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- High level of interpersonal skills and ability to handle confidential information
