About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, deliver, and coordinate engaging postgraduate subjects using culturally grounded and flexible teaching approaches for adult learners.
- Supervise and support Fellows in developing rigorous social change project proposals with strong community partnerships and ethical foundations.
- Conduct and publish high-quality research on Indigenous social change and leadership, securing external funding where appropriate.
- Contribute to research, seminars, and public engagement, representing the Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity (AFSE) locally and internationally.
- Build and sustain collaborations with Indigenous communities, partners, and University colleagues to strengthen teaching and impact.
Requirements
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity (this position is exempt under the Special Measure Provision).
- Doctoral qualification or near completion in a field related to Indigenous social change.
- Experience in curriculum co-design that embeds Indigenous knowledges, cultural safety, and decolonial practices.
- A strong record or clear potential in research, publication, and collaborative project development.
- Excellence in teaching adult learners using inclusive and reflexive pedagogical approaches.
- Proven ability to engage ethically with Indigenous communities and partners to nurture long-term relationships.
