Lecturer in Statistics

Responsibilities

• Teach three sections of introductory statistics (STA 201: Statistical Methods I) using the college's unique block schedule.
• Deliver course content covering data collection, descriptive statistics, and inference for proportions and means.
• Utilize JMP software for descriptive and normal/t-based methods.
• Implement modern inference techniques using simulation, randomization tests, and bootstrap confidence intervals via StatKey.
• Engage with students in small class settings (limited to 24 students) to foster strong academic relationships.

Requirements

• Master's degree in statistics or a closely related field is required.
• Ability to teach full-time during specific four-week blocks starting in October 2026.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ph.D. in statistics or a closely related field.
• Prior experience teaching introductory statistics.
