Lecturer in Music Therapy Services

Responsibilities

• Teach Music Therapy Practicum courses using approved departmental syllabi and interactive lectures.
• Supervise undergraduate music therapy students during 10-week practicum placements and advanced placements.
• Evaluate student performance through midpoint and endpoint assessments.
• Design, coordinate, and provide music therapy services and programs for various patient and community populations.
• Perform clinical interventions, initial assessments, and ongoing treatment planning.
• Document patient information, therapy provided, and clinical results accurately.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Music Therapy from an AMTA-approved program.
• Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC).
• Two years of clinical music therapy experience with a variety of populations.
• Teaching experience in music therapy or a related field.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Professional Liability Insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Music Therapy or a related field.
• Prior experience supervising undergraduate music therapy students.
• Neurologic Music Therapist (NMT) designation.
• Experience working with brain injury, IDD, military, and mental health populations.
• Functional Spanish language skills.
