About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare course outlines and teach survey courses in World History or United States History based on approved departmental syllabi
- Prepare and deliver consistent, interactive lectures
- Prepare and administer timely and meaningful exams and assessments for assigned courses
- Work collaboratively with departmental faculty to ensure standard curriculum outcomes are met
- Maintain availability outside of class to assist students with learning and questions
- Adhere to university policies regarding record keeping, equitable evaluation, and timely student feedback
- Maintain professional and respectful relationships with faculty, staff, and students
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in History
- One year of successful undergraduate teaching experience
- Documentation of student evaluations
- Ability to effectively learn and use instructional technology
- Willingness and flexibility to teach day, evening, and weekend sections as needed
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in History
