Lecturer in Communication

Responsibilities

• Teach multiple sections of introduction to public speaking, a core first-year general education course
• Provide instruction for four in-person courses, carrying a teaching load of 16 credits per academic year
• Assess student work and provide constructive, timely feedback on content knowledge, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Mentor first-year undergraduate students to help them acclimate to the College
• Maintain and update course Canvas sites
• Hold regular weekly office hours
• Participate in departmental service, including program assessment and attending department events
• Attend College workshops and professional development opportunities

Requirements

• Master's degree in Communication
• Significant experience teaching public speaking at the college level
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching public speaking
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. (sponsorship is not available)
