About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach weekly applied clarinet lessons to students
- Prepare course outlines and deliver instruction based on approved departmental syllabi
- Coach ensembles, such as woodwind quintets, as required
- Assist with student recruitment efforts for the Department of Music
- Participate in departmental studio hours, instrumental seminars, juries, and recitals
- Maintain timely and accurate records of student activities and performance evaluations
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Music with a focus on Clarinet Performance
- At least two (2) years of experience teaching clarinet
- Evidence of significant professional performing experience on clarinet
- Ability to effectively use and incorporate instructional technology into teaching
- Ability to deliver instruction both in person and online as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Clarinet Performance
- Previous experience teaching at the college or university level
