Lecturer III

Responsibilities

• Teach regular courses in the four-semester elementary Latin sequence to satisfy undergraduate language requirements
• Provide occasional instruction in other areas of the departmental curriculum, such as ancient Greek, as needed
• Lead departmental outreach efforts to recruit current and prospective students
• Engage with Latin teachers and students throughout the state of Michigan
• Stay current on new instructional materials and pedagogical methodologies in language teaching
• Contribute to the growth and development of the Latin and ancient Greek programs

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Classics or a related field
• Ability to teach Latin at all undergraduate levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in secondary education
• Proven ability to lead recruitment and outreach initiatives
