About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach introductory and upper-level courses in natural sciences, including a first-year writing seminar on a natural-science theme.
  • Serve as the head of the Science and Society Program, overseeing course offerings and curriculum management.
  • Hold regular meetings for program faculty and advise the RC Administrative Team and Executive Committee.
  • Meet with students enrolled in natural-science majors and provide academic advising for the Science, Technology, and Society minor.
  • Liaise with campus natural-science departments to identify opportunities for cross-listed courses.

Requirements

  • Advanced degree in the natural sciences (e.g., earth sciences, biology, physics) prior to the start date.
  • Demonstrated instructional expertise teaching undergraduate students.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in the natural sciences.
  • Proven experience teaching diverse groups of undergraduate students in small course settings.
  • Excellence in teaching and instructional service.
