About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach one undergraduate English course in Fall 2026 and one undergraduate English course in Winter 2027
  • Develop 300- or 400-level courses that fulfill the REGIONS requirement for the undergraduate English major
  • Focus instruction on literary, linguistic, and cultural traditions from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Pacific Islands
  • Facilitate student investigation into how cultural forms shape and are shaped by structures of power and social identities

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in English or Comparative Literature, conferred prior to the start date of the position
  • Expertise in literary and cultural traditions from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and/or the Pacific Islands
  • Evidence of effective undergraduate teaching
