About the role
Responsibilities
- Teach three half-term, one-credit courses (ALA 125 and ALA 325) focused on connecting liberal arts education with professional goals and internships
- Develop course materials that integrate LSA Opportunity Hub resources
- Facilitate classroom learning and attend all scheduled class sessions
- Partner with Hub teams to host guest speakers, including alumni and employers
- Evaluate and grade student work and hold regularly scheduled office hours
- Maintain regular contact with the Opportunity Hub's Director of Learning, Data, and Assessment
Requirements
- Master's degree
- College-level teaching experience, including lesson planning, grading, and classroom facilitation
- Experience in curricular design, including determining course objectives, creating assignments, and establishing modes of student evaluation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with students on career exploration, internships, or professional writing
- Experience teaching students across various class standings (1st year through senior year)
- Background in liberal arts or experience working with liberal arts students
- Experience with high-impact practices and/or active learning classrooms
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and implement curricular planning across related courses
