About the role

Responsibilities

  • Teach intensive, two-week undergraduate courses at Beihua University in Jilin, China
  • Deliver instruction in one or more of the following subjects: Digital Signal Processing, Database Principles and Applications, Computer Communication Networks, or College Physics 2
  • Conduct two concurrent course sections, meeting for two hours every weekday
  • Teach in English, working alongside a translator to support student communication
  • Complete approximately 40 hours of instruction per course taught

Requirements

  • Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching
  • Excellent spoken English skills
  • Ability to travel to and teach on-site in China
  • Applicants must reside in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, or Tennessee to be eligible for hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Master's degree or significant professional experience in a relevant field
  • ABD (All But Dissertation) status in a relevant field
