Leather & Materials Innovation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Source, qualify, and manage a portfolio of innovative materials and leather through active technological monitoring.
• Identify new supplier expertise and material proposals to enrich the Design team's creative process.
• Develop and maintain a network of partners and experts through supplier visits and specialized trade shows.
• Monitor and source innovative transformation processes such as embossing, laser, and high frequency.
• Identify, test, and develop new transformation processes and pilot machine trials in coordination with the 3D workshop in Spain.
• Contribute to the setup of the innovation workshop in Paris and assist with the commissioning of new machinery.
• Support design teams regarding technical feasibility and the optimization of material trials.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of significant experience in innovation, development, or material sourcing, ideally within leather goods or technical products.
• Strong technical knowledge of materials and transformation processes.
• Proficiency with 3D tools and the ability to project concepts onto various projects.
• Proven project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional projects involving design, suppliers, and production.
• Professional fluency in English.
• High attention to detail and a strong sensitivity to materials and finished products.
