Leather Innovation & Material Transformation Engineer

Responsibilities

• Conduct active technological monitoring to propose innovative material solutions
• Source, qualify, and manage a portfolio of innovative materials and suppliers
• Identify new supplier expertise and share findings with Design teams to enrich creation
• Develop and maintain a network of partners through supplier visits and specialized trade shows
• Lead material development projects from initial conception to implementation
• Monitor and source innovative transformation processes such as embossing, laser, and high frequency
• Identify, test, and develop new manufacturing processes in coordination with the 3D workshop in Spain
• Participate in the setup of the innovation workshop in Paris
• Support design teams regarding technical feasibility and trial optimization

Requirements

• At least 3 years of significant experience in innovation, development, or material sourcing, ideally in leather goods or technical products
• Strong technical knowledge of materials and transformation processes
• Proficiency with 3D tools and the ability to project concepts onto various projects
• Proven project management skills, managing cross-functional projects involving design, suppliers, and production
• Professional fluency in English
• High attention to detail and a strong sensitivity to materials and finished products
