Leather Cutter

Responsibilities

• Prepare work by gathering and sorting leather rolls and patterns
• Lay out, mark, and cut leather or skins into parts using knives or shears
• Position pattern pieces on leather to maximize material usage
• Use dies and mallets to cut out parts from leather
• Use machines to size and cut leather according to specifications
• Inspect materials for flaws and finished products for quality
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Requirements

• Experience in leather goods manufacturing preferred
• Basic measuring skills
• Ability to read and write
• Ability to handle a physical workload, including lifting up to 50 lbs
• High degree of manual dexterity and close visual attention
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
