Learning Support Assistant

Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with class teachers and the SEN team to support student progress
• Support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) to engage positively in the classroom
• Implement Quality First Teaching and SEN strategies within the Assess, Plan, Do, Review framework
• Maintain and contribute to Student SEN Profiles as effective working documents
• Differentiate support to meet individual needs while promoting student independence
• Use behaviour management strategies consistently in line with academy policies
• Apply subject knowledge to support effective teaching and learning

Requirements

• Qualifications to degree standard or equivalent
• Excellent standard of written and spoken English
• Previous experience supporting student learning
• Basic knowledge of SEND and learning barriers
• Experience working with young people, including those with challenging behaviour
• Computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft packages
• Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships
