Learning Specialist

Responsibilities

• Provide learning assistance and academic support to students within the Office for Development and Academic Success in the Sciences (ODASIS).
• Support students through one-on-one personalized academic plans, career advising, and mentoring.
• Develop programs and strategies aimed at improving student recruitment, retention, and graduation rates.
• Hire, train, and supervise peer Supplemental Instructors for weekly academic support sessions and mandatory study halls.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field.
• At least two (2) years of professional experience working collaboratively with faculty, students, and staff in an academic support services environment.
• Strong communication skills.
• Proficiency in computer applications and general computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in biology, higher education, or a related field.
