Learning Specialist

Responsibilities

• Oversee a caseload of students with individual learning needs, ensuring access to classroom success.
• Provide executive function coaching, study skills instruction, and coursework support.
• Update and maintain detailed records for students with Student Support Plans.
• Collaborate with educators to implement research-based strategies, differentiated instruction, and accommodations.
• Communicate regularly with families, students, and school administration regarding student progress.
• Act as an integral member of the Student Support Team alongside Deans and School Counselors.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years of experience as a special education teacher or learning specialist in a secondary school environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a closely related field.
• Proven experience working with neurodiverse learners and understanding their specific needs.
• Proficiency with Google Docs, Microsoft Office, and experience generating database reports.
• Strong knowledge of FERPA regulations and legal requirements regarding student confidentiality and safety.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or a closely related field.
