Learning Designer - Technical/AI

Responsibilities

• Lead learning design for scaled Coursera-produced learning experiences, focusing on modular, skill-aligned design and robust assessment.
• Partner with technical subject matter experts (SMEs) to translate expertise into vendor-ready deliverables, including storyboards, learning journeys, and assessment specifications.
• Build replicable design systems, templates, and acceptance criteria to ensure consistent production across vendors.
• Provide detailed, actionable feedback and Quality Assurance checks to production vendors and Coursera partners.
• Contribute to pedagogical innovation through AI-assisted design tooling, agentic workflows, and technology-enabled content development processes.
• Collaborate with internal teams to repackage modules and learning assets into new long-form offerings aligned with skill outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, or a related technical domain.
• 3–5 years of experience in technical domains (e.g., AI/ML, Software Engineering) and/or designing technical learning experiences.
• Hands-on technical proficiency in building or prototyping software applications, AI solutions, or agentic workflows.
• Demonstrated experience leveraging GenAI technologies to improve workflows or develop educational tools.
• Experience in roles such as technical instructor, curriculum developer, or learning designer supporting adult learners.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Data Science.
• Experience working with external production vendors to translate designs into deliverables.
• Familiarity with design tools like Figma or Articulate Storyline.
• Experience with learning analytics and data-driven optimization (e.g., SQL, Looker, or Tableau).
• Ability to communicate effectively with external partners to gather requirements and influence design decisions.
