About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a strategy for a self-sustaining Lean program and track effectiveness through Lean metrics.
- Establish and maintain Lean training processes to educate and coach plant employees on Lean principles and expectations.
- Lead the deployment of Lean manufacturing methodologies, including value stream mapping to improve cycle time, capacity, and cost.
- Facilitate leadership engagement in the Gemba using Kaizen principles to identify and implement solutions.
- Implement sustainable Lean programs such as 5S, Visual Control, and Single Minute Exchange of Die (SMED).
- Manage workplace flow/layout improvements, including equipment installations, modifications, and relocations.
- Identify benchmarking opportunities across Corning locations to promote best practices and process standardization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Textile, Industrial, Mechanical, or Materials Science).
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering.
- 2+ years of leadership experience in functional or project-based roles.
- 1+ year of experience in the knowledge and application of Six Sigma/DMAIC tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and ERP systems.
