League Manager

Responsibilities

• Build and manage season schedules across divisions, gyms, and time slots
• Oversee team placement, division balancing, and captain onboarding
• Execute game night operations including referee management and venue setup
• Manage standings, statistics, and weekly results
• Support the delivery and growth of youth basketball programming
• Build relationships with youth athletes, parents, and community partners
• Manage court bookings and facility logistics
• Track registrations, capacity, and team health metrics

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in sports, recreation, coaching, or community programming
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or leading youth programs and camps
• Strong passion for basketball and its culture
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Reliable transportation for league equipment and materials
• Availability to work weekends
• Must operate as a self-employed independent contractor

Preferred Qualifications

• Existing network within the Oakville basketball or youth sports community
• Experience managing facilities, officials, or volunteers
• Background in sports operations or event management
• Experience playing in or captaining competitive basketball leagues
