Leader of Manufacturing

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to manufacturing personnel, ensuring products are manufactured safely to the highest quality standards while achieving cost improvement goals
• Develop and maintain an understanding of manufacturing health regarding capacity, workforce, throughput, and bottlenecks
• Assist with factory build efforts, including staffing and planning for satellite production lines and flight program builds
• Define and execute continuous improvement strategies and initiatives to achieve business objectives
• Manage manufacturing engineers and technicians across avionics, harness, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and environmental test disciplines
• Lead the transition of hardware builds from low-rate initial production to higher rate production and across different manufacturing locations
• Support contract proposals and coordinate throughout the proposal gate review process
• Implement AS9100 Quality practices and manage manufacturing overhead, process improvement, and capital budgets

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
• 15+ years of experience in manufacturing, mechanical/electrical/test engineering, or materials and process engineering within Aerospace, Automotive, or Commercial industries
• Subject matter expertise in one of the following: harnessing, PCB assemblies, structural assembly, structural bonding, mechanisms, or composite honeycomb machining
• High level of proficiency in MRP/ERP systems
• Knowledge of satellite manufacturing engineering principles and concepts
• Experience working with a union-represented workforce
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• 10+ years of industry experience specifically in satellite manufacturing
• Demonstrated ability to scale manufacturing rate capability
• Strong technical problem-solving skills
