Lead Tech Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on development and improvements to high-speed automated equipment used in medical device manufacturing
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of automated systems to ensure optimal performance
• Utilize technical expertise to program and resolve issues involving robots (FANUC, ABB, Epson, Stäubli) and vision systems (Cognex, Keyence)
• Manage and troubleshoot automation software including Rockwell Automation Studio 5000 and Siemens Step 7/TIA Portal
• Support advanced process controls, servo motion systems, and industrial networks (Ethernet-IP, Profibus, ProfiNet)
• Maintain equipment involving ultrasonic welding, inkjet/thermal printers, and RFID/barcoding systems
• Collaborate with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance teams to meet performance goals
• Support CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions) activities to address systemic manufacturing and quality issues
• Adhere to all safety procedures and communicate necessary adjustments to address potential safety concerns

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electronic Engineering, or a related field
• 3-5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in a highly automated environment
• Proficiency with industrial robotics (FANUC, ABB, Epson, or Stäubli)
• Strong knowledge of Rockwell Automation (Studio 5000) or Siemens (Step 7, TIA Portal)
• Experience with Vision Systems such as Cognex or Keyence
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, electronics, and servo motion control systems
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including 2nd and 3rd shifts as needed
