About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 energetic elementary students
- Assist in the training, coaching, and performance evaluation of instructors
- Support the local Area Manager with coaching, quality control, and customer conversations
- Troubleshoot and resolve program challenges
- Complete class evaluation reports and communicate daily with supervisors
- Engage with school administration and parents to gather feedback and assist with marketing efforts
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, or camp counseling)
- Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain tactics to children
- Reliable transportation to reach various class locations in metropolitan areas
- Availability during after-school hours at least 4 days per week
- Ability to arrive 15 minutes early for setup and stay until safe dismissal
Preferred Qualifications
- Availability 5 days per week during peak program weeks
- Experience in educational, recreational, or mentoring settings
