Lead Teacher Trainer

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 energetic elementary students
• Assist in the training, development, and coaching of other instructors
• Support the Area Manager with coaching, quality control, and customer conversations
• Perform instructor performance evaluations and troubleshoot program challenges
• Complete class evaluation reports and maintain daily communication with supervisors
• Engage with school administration and parents to gather feedback and assist with marketing efforts
• Maintain professional communication and arrive prepared for all sessions

Requirements

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain tactics to children
• Reliable transportation to reach various class locations in metropolitan areas
• Availability during after-school hours at least 4 days per week
• Ability to reside in or relocate to the Belmont, CA area

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in educational, recreational, or mentoring settings
• Availability 5 days per week during peak program weeks
