About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 energetic elementary students
- Assist in the training, development, and coaching of other instructors
- Assist the local Area Manager with coaching, customer conversations, and quality control
- Perform instructor performance evaluations and troubleshoot program challenges
- Complete class evaluation reports and communicate daily with supervisors
- Engage with school administration and parents to gather feedback and assist with marketing efforts
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working with groups of children (teaching, tutoring, coaching, etc.)
- Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain tactics to children
- Reliable transportation to reach various class locations in the Atlanta metropolitan area
- Availability during after-school hours at least 4 days per week
- Ability to arrive 15 minutes early for setup and stay until safe dismissal
Preferred Qualifications
- Availability 5 days per week during peak program weeks
- Experience in educational, recreational, or mentoring settings
