About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily care, supervision, and learning experiences for infants and toddlers
  • Plan and implement high-quality programs supporting language, literacy, and social-emotional development
  • Develop age-appropriate lesson plans and daily routines including feeding, diapering, and napping
  • Observe children and document development through notes and assessment tools
  • Build responsive relationships with children and partner professionally with families
  • Provide guidance and modeling to Associate Teachers and classroom support staff
  • Maintain active supervision and ensure compliance with CDSS and CDE regulations
  • Maintain accurate classroom records including attendance and developmental assessments

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
  • Must meet Title 5 and Title 22 requirements for Lead Teacher in an infant/toddler classroom
  • Teacher Permit from the Department of Education
  • CPR/First Aid Training Certification
  • Completion of CCL Record Keeping Component and required health and safety training
  • Ability to pass health screening, TB test, and background fingerprint clearance
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed program
  • Experience leading classroom activities and supporting teaching staff
  • Bilingual skills
