About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the transformation of traditional operations into a modern SRE model by building reliability by design and automating toil
  • Define and implement SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets for critical services to drive adoption across teams
  • Build and tune observability frameworks using metrics, logs, and traces based on golden signals
  • Lead high-severity incidents (Major/SEV1), facilitate blameless postmortems, and track corrective actions
  • Create self-service reliability tooling, including runbooks, bots, and reliability checks
  • Partner with Performance Engineering to conduct load, stress, and soak testing to remove bottlenecks
  • Coach product and operations teams on SRE principles and define maturity models

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture, or equivalent professional experience
  • Hands-on experience with SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering in large-scale distributed systems
  • Proficiency with Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Strong skills in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation using tools like Terraform and Ansible or Chef
  • Experience with observability tools including Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Go, or Java
  • Experience managing CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GitOps practices and solid Git workflows
  • Familiarity with advanced observability tools like Thousandeyes, Appdynamics, or Aternity
  • Knowledge of reliability practices including capacity planning, canary/blue-green deployments, and chaos/DR testing
  • Strong documentation skills for creating runbooks, dashboards, and readiness checklists
