Lead, Systems Engineering - Database DevOps

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain database infrastructure using DevOps principles
• Automate database deployment, scaling, and management processes
• Implement monitoring and alerting tools to ensure database performance and availability
• Collaborate with software development teams to support CI/CD pipelines
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner
• Ensure security and compliance standards are met for database systems
• Manage backup, recovery, and data archival processes
• Support all phases of the software development life cycle, including design, implementation, and testing

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (with ability to obtain TS/SCI in the future)
• Bachelor’s Degree with nine (9) years of programming experience, or a Graduate Degree with seven (7) years of experience
• Minimum of 13 years of programming experience in lieu of a degree
• Demonstrated experience as a Database Engineer or in a similar role
• Experience with Linux System Administration (preferably Red Hat or derivatives)
• Proficiency with database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Oracle
• Experience with DevOps tools, CI/CD pipelines, and configuration management (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet)
• Proficiency in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle) and containerization (Docker or Kubernetes)

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of data warehousing and big data technologies
• Certification in cloud platforms or database management
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
