About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver end-to-end milestones on the traffic platform from problem definition to rollout
- Take ownership of complex and ambiguous problems, proposing pragmatic solutions for reliability and security
- Ensure stability and quality by designing with failure in mind and implementing observability
- Collaborate with engineers and product teams to align on technical plans and milestones
- Use AI and agents in an AI-first way to investigate issues, write code, and automate work
- Create and maintain technical documentation and runbooks
- Mentor other engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and pairing
- Participate in support and on-call routines to drive platform improvements
Requirements
- Experience operating large-scale, high-performance synchronous distributed systems in the cloud
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based infrastructure and Infrastructure-as-Code
- Proficiency with load balancers, reverse proxies, TLS/mTLS, and routing
- Experience with Istio, Linkerd, Envoy, or similar service-mesh technologies
- Working knowledge of AWS networking and compute primitives (ALB/NLB, VPC, Route 53, IAM)
- Hands-on experience with Pulumi or Terraform
- Experience building platform capabilities, abstractions, or internal tooling for other engineers
- Ability to integrate AI tools into daily engineering workflows
